Dianne Schrader has Maternal Mitochonrial DNA (mtDNA) Haplogroup: K2a6

This is only past down the female side, Mother to Daughter (A son inherits, but dead ends it). The first 6 generations of Dianne's K2a6 Haplogroup Mitochonrial DNA were all born in Schleswig-Holstein. Anyone who has a Mother who has a direct Maternal all female line back to anyone listed above has this mtDNA K2a6.

The 23andMe DNA research organization reports that Dianne's Mitochonrial mtDNA Haplogroup is K2a6. Haplogroup K2a6 is in the Regions of Near East, Europe, Central Asia and Northern Africa. K originated about 10,000 to 22,000 years ago by splitting off the more ancient haplogroup U8 and has been involved in migrations from the Near East into Europe.

Dianne's Line of Mitochonrial mtDNA descendant

Beginning Mitochonrial mtDNA Haplogroup for first Woman called Eve is SNP L with age estimated between 99,000 to 234,000 Years ago (believed lived in Northern Africa).

Mitochonrial mtDNA Haplogroup is SNP L3 with age estimated between 80,000 to 104,000 Years ago (believed lived in the middle East or possibly came out of Northern Africa).

Mitochonrial mtDNA Haplogroup is SNP N with age about 71,000 years.

Mitochonrial mtDNA Haplogroup is SNP R with age about 66,000 years.

Mitochonrial mtDNA Haplogroup is SNP U with age about 55,000 years.

Mitochonrial mtDNA Haplogroup is SNP U8.

Mitochonrial mtDNA Haplogroup is SNP K with age estimated between 10,000 to 22,000 Years ago.

Mitochonrial mtDNA Haplogroup is SNP K2.

Mitochonrial mtDNA Haplogroup is SNP K2a.

Mitochonrial mtDNA Haplogroup is SNP K2a6.

The mtDNA of Ötzi the Iceman, the frozen mummy from 3,300 BC found on the Austrian-Italian border, has shown that Ötzi belongs to the K1 SNP. Dianne had the same common Maternal ancestor with him less than 22,000 years ago. Dianne Schrader is K2a6 but has not been tested in any more detail and it is not known if her female branch contains any of these mutations.

I received the below from Kjell Kristianssons:

The haplogroup to which you and I belong, K2a6, is estimated to be created in Denmark around 1.800 years ago. So somehow we are related on our mothers side – even if it is a long long time ago. Now we are a group trying to learn more about what happened after K2a6 was created. We in the group all carry the extra mutation A234G och have tested full sequence mtDNA at FTDNA.

If you carry the mutation A234G we would like to hear from you. You can see what information we want at the end of this mail.

Our findings this far:

We have found the order of our mutations after K2a6 to be A234G - A14437G - T4592C - G5585A. More in the table below.

This indicates a woman was moved, abducted or married to Sweden many hundred years ago. Perhaps during the Viking age. (But the sample is small!)

Have you tested full sequence mtDNA?

What other extra mutations do you have in addition to K2a6 and A234G?

Where does your oldest ancestor originate?
