My Maternal Mitochonrial DNA Haplogroup: H1aj
This is only past down the female side, Mother to Daughter (A son inherits, but dead ends it). The first 10 generations of my H1aj Haplogroup Mitochonrial DNA were all born in Graben, Baden, Germany. Anyone who has a Mother who has a direct Maternal all female line back to anyone listed above has this mtDNA H1aj.

It is reported that in 1648, only 42 people lived in Graben. Four of those would have been my ancestors Anna Pfeil, her daughter Maria Pfeil and husband or future husband (10% of the people).

The National Geographic Project GENO 2.0 reports that my Mitochonrial DNA Haplogroup is H1aj. H1aj is a subgroup of H1 and H1 is a subgroup of H. Haplogroup H1 is widespread in Europe, especially the Western part of the continent. It originated about 13,000 years ago, not long after the ice age ended. H1 appears to have been common in Doggerland, an ancient land now flooded by the North Sea. It was common along a river that ran down the middle of the English Channel before the ice age melted. The English Channel formed after the ice age ended.
