The Kraut Cutter belonged to Grandparents Henry and Maria (Zimmermann) Roesch. In those days they would cut a lot of cabbage for kraut. They started to can kraut in the 1920's. Then they didn't use this much any more. Before they canned kraut, they put it into 10 or 20 gallon stone jars.
