We hope that you can join us for the Picton Reunion in 2024.
A big thankyou to Susie Tubach who for the past many years has been our Secretary / Treasurer and record keeper Much work and much appreciation well done Susie. It is appreciated for the many email addresses received and will send notices to as many as possible that way. Often people don't think to update addresses for the Pictons Reunion when they move. Many invitations sometimes come back as undeliverables. Please pass this information along to family members since we have lost touch with some. Please keep a record of births, marriages and deaths to be entered into the minutes at the reunion.
The Picton Reunion is normally scheduled on even years on the first Sunday in August
2015 was the Bicentenary of the Success and Death
He distinguished himself and died June 18, 1815 helping defeat Napoleon while fighting under the Duke of Wellington at the Battle of Waterloo. His body was brought to London in a keg of whisky. He first was buried at St. George's, Hanover Square and later reburied at St. Paul's Cathedral. Folklore has him riding out and fighting the Battle of Waterloo in either tuxedo suit of tails and top hat or his night shirt and top hat because either his luggage had not arrived or he had overslept. I can not prove that I am related to him but both he and my ancestors came from Pembrokeshire, Wales.
